Abstract Or Scope
The Anne Summers Women's Collection (ASWC) comprises of 796 books collected since the 1960s. This material is a unique record of the intellectual development of feminists engaging with transnational intellectual networks and social history of those times, including the impact of feminism on shaping social policy in Australia. The majority of materials in this collection are books published by various publishers including a number of government publications. The content covers a wide range of topics including women's rights, women's history, biographies, women and business, women in politics, sex roles, diversity, parenting, affirmative action for women, women and the media etc. There are also a small number of flyers, pamphlets, journal articles and speeches included in this collection. Most of of the volumes in this collection have handwritten annotations by Anne Summers. The collection also includes wide-ranging accompanying materials originally inserted into individual volumes, such as postcards, bookmarks, post-it notes, newspaper cuttings, press releases, invitations, letters, etc.

The collection comprises material created by Australian journalist Peter Greste during his imprisonment in Mulhaq Al Masra (Molha'a El-Mazra'a)/ Tora prison from December 2013 until February 2015; material collected by his parents Lois and Juris and brothers Mike and Andrew in support of Peter's release from prison; records collected following Peter's release and return to Australia; along with records relating to Peter from the 1980's. Included are letters written by Peter Greste that were smuggled out of the prison, some written on toilet paper and napkins and addressed to family, friends, politicians, lawyers, Al Jazeera staff and some statements and press releases; Peter's diaries written in prison; media coverage during his imprisonment; correspondence from his supporters; papers kept by Lois and Juris Greste in Egypt including notebooks, court and travel documents; notebooks from Mike Greste. Also included are papers relating to Peter's schooling, including Youth Exchange documents, his journalism cadetship, correspondence and photographs and records relating to the Australian of the Year Award nomination.

The collection also includes an alphabetical list of the Ship's Manifest, a copy of Estonia's War Children: a fractured generation, compiled and narrated by Mai Maddisson, a visitor's book from a reunion of former inhabitants of the Northam Migrant Camp in Western Australia plus material relating to Agnes Karlik's father, Gustav Kovacs, who was a pioneer of the Hungarian film industry.

The research material gathered by Cochrane documents the life and legend of stretcher-bearer John Simpson Kirkpatrick, who died in the Gallipoli campaign of World War I. This collection comprises material relating to Bishop William Morris' book titled: 'Benedict, Me and the Cardinals Three: the story of the dismissal of Bishop William Morris by Pope Benedict XVI' that discusses Morris' removal from pastoral care of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba by the Holy See in May 2011. The collection includes numerous letters, emails and cards from parishioners, priests, bishops, solicitors and laity, and articles sent to Bishop Morris after his forced retirement. Included also are letters to Bishop Morris from the Parish and agencies in the diocese expressing sadness re his forced retirement.
