- 120 black and white photographs in an oblong cloth covered album. Each photograph has a printed caption and measures 6.9 x 10.8 cm. There are some occasional closed tears at upper edge of the album leaves in some places but the photographs themselves are in very good condition.
- Together with many images of famous buildings, the Great Wall and other well known sites of the built environment, the photographs most interestingly show human activities such as a wedding procession, musicians, camel trains with their driver, lumber sawing, water wheel barrow and driver, street water sprinklers, children, a cobbler, a fortune teller etc.
