George Tippett, born 1927, Melbourne. Tippett was a medical officer for the Department of Health in Darwin during the late 1950s. He was later appointed as the medical officer in charge of the Area Medical Service and the Native Survey in Alice Springs. He was responsible for primary care and public health on settlements, stations and missions around Alice Springs. He talks about his relationship with the station managers and about their attitudes towards Aboriginal people.
