May McCutcheon discusses her memories of Strahan, Tas. as a child; her family history; Emu Bay Railway; the many changes she has seen over the years; the music in her family; her mother being a trained violinist and dance band player; boat dances; the Depression. McCutcheon speaks about her years playing for dances in the area; her mother's role playing the violin for the local silent movies. She plays several tunes from her dance repertoire on piano.
