George Payne, born in Paddington, speaks about the life and musical history of his father; his mother; his siblings; growing up in Hammondville, NSW; his musical influences; learning and playing music with his father; his schooling and education; WWII; country music and songs; beginning yodelling; his career as a musician; Tim McNamara Talent Quest Shows; winning Amateur Hour in 1943 with his brother Joe; recording his songs at Rodeo Records; his father's songs and poetry; playing dance music at Ingleburn Hotel; Padstow RSL Club; the loss of his son; giving up and returning to guitar playing and self recording; his use of technology for recordings; the group Arrows; Frank Ifield. Payne also sings and performs songs on his guitar.
