- Biography/History:

Captain of the flagship H.M.S. Powerful on the Australian Station, 1905-1908. Later commanded the battle cruiser New Zealand on its voyage round the world including visits to Australia and N.Z. In 1919-1922, as commander of H.M.S. Renown, he was chief of staff to the Prince of Wales.
