Beverley Elphick, housewife and Indigenous separated child speaks about her mother and her mother's sister who were both raised in Cootamundra Girls' Home, N.S.W. When Elphick was born, her mother resisted pressure to consent to an adoption and placed her daughter with a white foster mother. At the age of 5, Elphick was returned briefly to her mother before returning to foster care. Elphick speaks about her own feelings as a teenager about having an Aboriginal mother, and about the reunion with her mother and her aunt through Link Up.
