Janet Jukes is CEO of Refuge Victoria, an independent not-for-profit organisation funded by the Victorian Government to provide refuge accommodation and support to those escaping family violence, and is also President of Thorne Harbour Health (Victorian LGBTIQA+ health organisation). Janet has held key leadership roles in child, youth and family services, relationship and counselling services, homelessness, family violence, community legal services, and research. Janet also held the role of CEO of Relationship Matters Counselling and Mediation for almost eight years. Janet was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia – for services to the community through LGBTIQ advocacy and social welfare organisations. She is also a Centenary Medal recipient for outstanding service to young people.--Information from Refuge Victoria website.
