Correspondence and press cuttings relating the appointment and resignation, 1913 as High Court Judge and the 1922 election campaign. The main correspondents are Dowell O' Reilly (Piddington's brother-in-law) and W. M. Hughes. The bulk of the collection comprises letters of congratulation on Piddington's appointment to the High Court.

Sydney barrister. Appointed Justice of The High Court 1913 Feb. 14 but resigned on Mar. 25 before taking his seat on the Bench. President of Inter-state Commission, 1913-1920. In 1922 election, stood against W. M. Hughes in North Sydney as an independent.
