Venus Wyles, born c. 1929 Croydon, Qld. Wyles was sent to Palm Island, Qld. at the age of 3 with her mother and siblings. At the age of 10, she was removed to the dormitories. She describes the living conditions in the dormitories, outlines the effects of World War II on Palm Island, and expresses her views on the Catholic Church's management of Palm Island. Wyles and her husband moved from Palm Island to Townsville in 1964.
