A.L.S., "At sea in the Emily Jane" 16 August 1846 and "Sydney" 20 August 1846, to his father, Rev. J. Collinson, Boldon Rectory, Gateshead, England. There are two additional letters to his father, dated March 22 and April 30th, 1850, which give an insight into life in the colonies, and Hobart Town in particular.
