Alex Hood, born 1935, is an Australian entertainer, writer and folk musician. Beginning with the early folk scene in Sydney, Alex has had an extensive involvement in the performance of folk music, and pioneered the use of folk music in Australian schools. He was a member of the Original Bushwhackers and in the original cast of Reedy River. Alex also collected folk music and folklore, and conducted many interviews for the Oral History Folklore collection at the National Library of Australia.
