Folkloric recording. This soundscape is recorded at the Morrison's Sawmill in Strahan, Tasmania. The mill has a vertical saw that is used for cutting Huon pine and other species of Tasmanian timber for the tourist industry. The Huon pine is remnants from the forest floor and river as cutting of the Huon pine is now strictly controlled. The Morrison family have been loggers and sawmillers for 3 generations.
