- Summary:
-
"This project was commissioned by the Department for the Environment and Heritage to develop an understanding of the hydrology of the Lake Eyre Basin (LEB). Baseline studies are a precursor to understanding how natural systems work. Given that hydrology is a fundamental driver of natural processes in the LEB, it is appropriate that this broad hydrologic study be undertaken. This project aims to build on existing information and previous research and to provide a detailed resource for the Basin and in doing so has pulled together climate, streamflow, groundwater and other related information, currently recorded by agencies across four states and territories. The Report describes the analyses undertaken and interpretation of the results. The Report concludes with several recommendations dealing with data and research opportunities." --Page 2 of source document.
