Background

Scope and content:
Founded on the 26th January 1972, 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, one of the world's longest continuing protest sites. This collection captures some of the activities to mark the 50 year anniversary, including an Invasion Day rally, performances and displays at the site. Some images feature Euahlayi Elder Ghillar Michael Anderson, the last surviving member of the group of four men who established the embassy on the lawns of Old Parliament House.
