White speaks about his childhood on and around Lang Hancock's Mulga Downs station where his mother worked as a cook, and his removal in 1937. He was taken to Port Hedland Hospital, W.A. and then sent on a sea voyage to Fremantle, before being placed at Bennet St Girls' Home and later Mogumber Mission, north of Perth. He describes living conditions at the Mission. He was among the first group of children transferred to Roelands Mission. He describes living conditions at Roelands Mission, and gives his opinion of Albany Bell, the founder of Roelands Mission. He also talks about his return to Mulga Downs in 1997.
